A Temporary ReIiefforthe Rare Earth Industry

For many in the rare earth industry, this has been one of the longest weeks.

As of 7 November, the export restriction on HoImium (Ho) has been paused — at Ieast for now.

How Long WiIIthe Pause Last?

At this stage, no one can say for certain. The suspension was initially

announced for 12 months, but as weʼve all learned in recent times, poIicy

changes can happen at any moment.

Holmium Restrictions Lifted … for Now 1

We encourage our partners and customers to stay prepared and plan proactively — this is an “exciting rideˮ we will navigate together.

What Does This Mean for Your Business?

While Dy (Dysprosium), Tb (Terbium), and Sm (Samarium) remain restricted, HoImium is currentIy not.

Therefore, HREE-Free (Heavy Rare Earth EIement Free) magnets will continue to refer to materials free of Dy, Tb, and Sm.

For our customers using Neodymium magnets, the following HREE-Free

grades are immediately available and not affected by any export restriction:

N (80 oC) — up to N56

M (100 oC) — up to 54M H (120 oC) — up to 54H

SH (150 oC) — up to 54SH

SHT (160 oC) — up to 40SHT (MOQ required; higher grades in progress) UH (180 oC) — up to 35UH (MOQ required; higher grades in progress)
